Job Overview We are seeking an experienced online adjunct faculty member to teach an introductory medical law and ethics course for the Spring 2024 semester. This 15-week, asynchronous course will cover the fundamentals of medical laws, ethical principles, and bioethics for healthcare practitioners. The ideal candidate will have a law background with experience in the healthcare field and a proven track record of teaching online courses. A master's degree in ethics or a related field is required, and online teaching experience is essential. Key Responsibilities Demonstrate effective instructional methodology and command of the subject matter Develop and implement clear learning objectives and outcomes for the course Facilitate engaging and interactive online learning experiences for students Provide constructive feedback and assessment of student learning in a timely manner Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and refine the curriculum Participate in required meetings and events, and respond to communications and requests in a professional and timely manner Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following essential qualifications: Master's degree in ethics or a related field from a regionally accredited institution Minimum of 18 semester hours in content-specific related field Minimum of one year of experience in an area relevant to the program assignment Online teaching experience is required Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proficiency with personal computer and standard office applications Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Terminal degree in a related field One or more years of experience teaching at the post-secondary level Nebraska licensure and national certifications (where applicable) Experience with adult learning styles and various teaching methods Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Ability to provide academic instruction and read, analyze, interpret, and grade academic assignments Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proficiency with personal computer and standard office applications Knowledge of various teaching methods and adult learning styles Skill in the effective use of resources, including time, information, and available services Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Nebraska Methodist Health System, we are committed to supporting the ongoing education and development of our employees.
