As a Virtual Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Job Overview As a Critical Environment Support Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of Microsoft's cloud services. You will work collaboratively with a team of experts to manage and maintain the company's global datacenter infrastructure, which spans over 100 datacenters and 1 million servers. Your role will be critical in supporting services for over 1 billion clients and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide. Key Responsibilities Provide technical support and assistance to ensure the smooth operation of Microsoft's cloud services Work collaboratively with a team of experts to manage and maintain the company's global datacenter infrastructure Monitor and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability of services Participate in shift tasks during non-standard business hours, including nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays Meet Microsoft, client, or government security screening requirements Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in technical services and a passion for delivering exceptional results. The required qualifications for this role include: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent 3+ years of work experience in administrative/business support in the technical services industry (e.g., high-availability assembly/manufacturing/critical infrastructure environments, such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceuticals) Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including shift tasks during non-standard business hours Capacity to meet Microsoft, client, or government security screening requirements Preferred Qualifications In addition to the required qualifications, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset: Associate's Degree or technical trade certification (e.g., military, trade school), or higher-equivalent education 3+ years of technical services experience (e.g., high-availability assembly/manufacturing/critical infrastructure environments, such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceuticals) Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess a range of skills and competencies, including: Strong technical skills and knowledge of cloud services and infrastructure Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask Capacity to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Career Growth and Development At Microsoft, we are committed to the professional and personal development of all employees.
