About the Role: Technician, IT Services This role is an integral part of the Data Innovation Group within the Data Innovation Division at blithequark. As a Technician, IT Services, you will play a crucial part in supporting end-user computing, encompassing software/hardware installations, upgrades, and the overall maintenance of PC desktop/PC systems and peripherals. Key Responsibilities Resolves and closes tickets/work orders supporting end-user desktops and peripherals, ensuring timely and effective solutions. Answers client care issues raised from the Helpdesk, providing expert guidance and support. Contributes to desktop projects (global installations/upgrades) as a project team member, collaborating with cross-functional teams. Remotely diagnoses and resolves demands using remote tools, leveraging technical expertise to troubleshoot complex issues. Investigates and collaborates with different departments to help with system-related issues, ensuring seamless integration and support. Documents client interactions in incident management systems, including asset management, to maintain accurate records. Retrieves data from hard disk drives or performs data migration as needed, ensuring data integrity and security. Supports remote access for virtual private network connectivity as well as remote/broadband network for workstations, ensuring secure and reliable connections. Installs and configures local and network-based printers, optimizing printing services. Performs preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and minimize downtime. Works various shifts, occasions, is ready to come in case of an emergency, and travels as required, demonstrating flexibility and commitment. Follows management direction, complying with IT policy and procedure to maintain a secure and compliant environment. Performs various duties as assigned, adapting to changing priorities and needs. Essential Qualifications and Experience To succeed in this role, you will need: An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience/training. A minimum of 2 years of real-world 'hands-on' IT work experience supporting and resolving various PC desktop software and hardware issues. Firsthand experience supporting workstations in a Windows/TCP/IP environment, with a strong understanding of networking protocols and configurations. Preferred Qualifications and Experience While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly preferred: A+ certification, demonstrating a foundational knowledge of IT principles and practices. MCSE/MCP or more, showcasing advanced technical skills and expertise. Previous IT infrastructure experience in an Aircraft/Airport environment, providing a unique understanding of the industry's specific challenges and requirements. Skills, Licenses, and Certificates To excel in this role, you should possess: General knowledge of all Windows-based operating systems, including Windows 10, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Understanding of workflow and ticketing systems, with the ability to navigate and utilize these tools effectively. Knowledge of VPN connectivity and the ability to troubleshoot issues, ensuring secure and reliable remote access. The capacity to work independently and act in a cooperative, team-based environment, balancing individual initiative with collaborative spirit. The ability to lift at least 50 lbs, demonstrating physical capability for certain tasks.
