Key Responsibilities and Expectations As an IT Intern in our Information Security team, you will be part of a dynamic team working across multiple security domains, including Identity Management, Governance Risk and Compliance, Vulnerability Management, Cloud Security Automation, and Security Operations. Your responsibilities will include: Gathering requirements for development and designing and testing of security solutions Security system maintenance, enhancement, and support of our security solutions Creating automation solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security risks Participating in security awareness and training programs to educate employees on security best practices Conducting research and analysis on emerging security threats and technologies Developing and presenting reports and recommendations to stakeholders on security-related topics You will work in a hybrid environment, with a combination of onsite and remote work, and will be expected to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Essential Qualifications and Requirements To be considered for this internship, you must: Be able to commit to working the entire 13-week summer internship program (May 2025 – August 2025) Be willing to work from our Atlanta or Minneapolis-St. Paul office (as agreed upon during the interview) Have a 2.5 GPA or higher and have completed at least 2 years in a college program, with a degree emphasis in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field Possess strong analytical, leadership, written, and verbal communication skills, and a good work ethic Be able to accept diverse people, thinking, and consistently make safety and security, of self and others, a priority Have an interest in solving complex problems and be willing to invest time and energy to overcome roadblocks Possess an awareness of cloud technology, Software Dev Lifecycles, and/or PC hardware components and/or maintenance Be able to conduct yourself in a mature manner and be comfortable working in a business casual work attire environment Be interested in working for Delta Air Lines after graduation if presented with a full-time job offer opportunity Preferred Qualifications and Skills While not required, the following skills and qualifications will give you a competitive edge: Ability to digest large amounts of data and information and succinctly explain what can be learned from the data and how it can support decision-making Desire to learn leadership techniques and best practices in problem-solving and conflict resolution to enable innovation and progress on difficult-to-solve challenges Passion for working with Information Security and a strong interest in the field Experience with security frameworks, compliance regulations, and industry standards Knowledge of cloud security platforms, such as AWS or Azure Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) systems Experience with scripting languages, such as Python or PowerShell Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits As an IT Intern in our Information Security team, you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, develop new skills, and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
