We are now seeking an experienced and skilled Home Health and Palliative Care Director to join our team and lead our active department to even greater heights. Job Overview The Home Health and Palliative Care Director will be responsible for the administrative and clinical oversight of both departments, covering a large service area with an average daily census of 400 Home Health and 100 Hospice patients. This comprehensive role will involve leading a team of 133 FTEs, consisting of Registered Nurses, Social Workers, and other support staff, with 9 direct reports. The ideal candidate will have several years of progressive leadership experience in both Home Health and Hospice, with a proven track record of managing large caseloads and driving departmental growth. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Home Health and Palliative Care departments, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, vision, and values Develop and implement continuous improvement projects to enhance patient care, staff engagement, and departmental efficiency Oversee the hiring, training, and development of staff, including performance management and talent acquisition Collaborate with other department leaders to ensure seamless integration of services and optimal patient outcomes Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and resource allocation Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices, applying this knowledge to inform departmental decisions and drive innovation Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in Home Health and Hospice, with a strong track record of managing large caseloads and leading high-performing teams A Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred Current licensure as a Registered Nurse, with certification in Hospice and Palliative Care preferred Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive departmental growth and improvement Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following preferred qualifications will be highly regarded: Experience working in a similar healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of the local healthcare landscape Knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards, including Joint Commission and CMS regulations Experience with electronic medical records and other healthcare technology systems A strong commitment to patient-centered care, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient outcomes and experiences Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Leadership: the ability to inspire and motivate staff, with a strong track record of leading high-performing teams Communication: excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with staff, patients, and families Strategic thinking: the ability to develop and implement strategic plans, with a focus on driving departmental growth and improvement Problem-solving: strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive innovation and improvement Emotional intelligence: a strong understanding of the emotional and psychological needs of patients and families, with a commitment to delivering compassionate and empathetic care Career Growth Opportunities As a Home Health and Palliative Care Director with our organization, you will have access to a range of career growth opportunities, including: Professional development programs, including leadership training and education Opportunities for advancement, including executive leadership roles A strong commitment to work-life balance, with a focus on supporting your physical, emotional, and mental well-being A collaborative and supportive work environment, with a strong focus on teamwork and camaraderie Work Environment and Company Culture Our organization is committed to providing a positive and supportive work environment, with a strong focus on employee engagement and satisfaction.
