As a High School Math Teacher with our organization, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students who have been referred by the public school system to our alternative school placement. We're seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team in Dover, DE, and we're excited to share the details of this rewarding role with you. About Our Organization and the Role Pathways is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters academic success and personal growth. Our alternative school placement program is designed to help students who have struggled in traditional educational settings to get back on track. As a High School Math Teacher with our organization, you'll work with small classes (15:1 ratio) and use a blended curriculum that combines hands-on projects, restorative circles, and online learning to engage students and promote academic achievement. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging math lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students Utilize a blended curriculum to provide hands-on, skill-based learning experiences Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic success and personal growth Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure student success Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs Participate in restorative circles and other activities that promote social-emotional learning and character development Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and stay up-to-date on industry trends Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be considered for this role, you'll need to meet the following essential qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Math, Education, or related field preferred) 3 years of related experience and/or training (Para Pro exam accepted) Clear criminal record and compliance with mandated health requirements (e.g., negative tuberculosis test) Adherence to drug-free workplace rules and board policies While not required, the following preferred qualifications will make you a more competitive candidate: Math teaching or tutoring experience Mathematics Bachelor's Degree or Dual certification with Special Education Experience working with students in an alternative education setting Skills and Competencies To succeed as a High School Math Teacher with Pathways, you'll need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong knowledge of math curriculum and instructional strategies Excellent classroom management and organizational skills Ability to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Pathways, we're committed to investing in your growth and development from day one.
