About the Role As a Health Fitness Professional, you'll play a vital role in driving the success of our health and fitness programs, promoting wellness initiatives, and delivering exceptional services to our members. You'll work closely with our team to create a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages individuals to reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities Monitor facility operations, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for participants, and interact with members to provide guidance and support. Deliver individual and group exercise instruction, educating participants on proper techniques to maximize exercise safety and effectiveness. Coordinate and lead a variety of HealthFitness and program-specific health improvement programs and promotions, driving member engagement and participation. Conduct fitness testing and assessments, advising participants on results and designing personalized programs to meet their interests, abilities, and goals. Research health and fitness educational topics, identifying relevant participant educational materials and conducting health education seminars and presentations. Participate in membership drives to acquire new participants, enroll new members, and conduct facility, program, and equipment orientations. Promote program offerings and conduct outreach activities to increase participation and re-engage inactive participants. Create and maintain marketing and communication materials, including bulletin boards, newsletters, and other promotional resources. Perform other duties as needed or assigned. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: An Associate's degree or higher in a related field (Kinesiology, Exercise Science, etc.) or 2+ years of experience in the fitness and wellness industry. Fitness industry certification(s) from a HealthFitness-approved provider. First Aid & CPR/AED certification through the American Heart Association, Red Cross, or American Safety & Health Institute. Group Exercise Instructor certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT, or NETA (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of start date). Proficiency in fitness assessment and exercise prescription. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications can enhance your candidacy: Experience in a health club or fitness center environment. Knowledge of health and wellness programs, including programming and implementation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
