Key Responsibilities Lead and deliver group fitness classes based on industry standards and approved formats, ensuring classes begin and end promptly and adhere to the scheduled times Instruct participants on effective workout methods, explaining proper techniques, demonstrating exercises, and identifying different muscle groups Provide verbal instructions that are clear and concise, ensuring the volume, tempo of music, and overall atmosphere are motivational and conducive to hearing, teaching, learning, and having fun Coach and motivate class participants to achieve their fitness goals, continually monitoring for signs of injury, illness, or overexertion Interact with participants, answer questions, introduce/orient new participants, generate and maintain a positive exercise experience, and solicit feedback to maintain long-term participation and member retention Ensure all participants are using correct form during class, offering modifications and variations of the activities to accommodate all fitness levels Maintain and demonstrate a positive and professional attitude towards responsibilities, fellow associates, members, and guests Represent and promote Gold's Gym group exercise in a professional manner, adhering to appropriate fitness attire and refraining from attire that is revealing in an inappropriate manner Essential Qualifications Current CPR/AED certification and basic first aid training (hands-on certification, online certifications not accepted) Minimum of six months teaching experience in a group exercise environment, along with demonstrated knowledge of group exercise principles and safe exercise techniques Maintain nationally recognized Group fitness certification by ACE, AFAA, ACSM Provide verifiable proof of specialized skill/training, such as Yoga, Pilates, Body Pump, Body Attack, etc. Knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies, incorporation of choreography, and safe transitional movement patterns, music, tempo, cueing technique, and rhythm High degree of energy and physical fitness to complete the workout Demonstrated knowledge of basic physiology, human anatomy, kinesiology, body mechanics, and training principles Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a fast-paced fitness environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to create and/or follow appropriate choreography combinations to be taught within the parameters of the class format Positive and effective interpersonal communication skills High degree of professionalism with the ability to motivate others Ability to operate and troubleshoot audio equipment Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Gold's Gym DC Metro Area, we are committed to the growth and development of our team members.
