We're now seeking an experienced Ground Maintenance Technician (Motorized) to join our team at LaGuardia Airport (LGA). As a key member of our Ground Support Equipment team, you'll play a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly. About the Role: Key Responsibilities As a Ground Maintenance Technician (Motorized), you'll be responsible for inspecting, servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and overhauling various components of our ground support equipment, including truck chassis, body, and drive-train components. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our equipment, and you'll work closely with other technicians and vendors to achieve this goal. Inspect, service, troubleshoot, repair, replace, and overhaul components of ground support equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Perform bodywork, painting, and technical repairs as needed. Complete data entry to record work assignments and communicate with other team members. Repair and maintain a diverse range of motorized equipment, including vehicles and airport systems. Work effectively in a team environment, coordinating repairs with other GMTs and outside vendors. Respond to customer needs with minimal direction and perform repairs in time-sensitive situations. Compensation and Sign-on Bonus The minimum starting hourly rate for this position is $31.22, with the ability to increase your hourly rate within 6 months of your start date based on premiums offered, such as ASE Certification, CIMM Certification, Shift differential, and Skill differential. External applicants hired to work at LGA airport will receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus, paid in two installments: $2,500 after 90 days of employment and $2,500 after 180 days of employment. Requirements: What You Need to Succeed To be considered for this role, you'll need to meet our minimum qualifications, including: A high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. At least 18 years of age and authorization to work in the United States. A valid driver's license. Proficiency in English. The ability to lift items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds. Willingness to work a fixed and/or rotating schedule, including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. A satisfactory score on entry tests structured to determine your ability to perform required tasks. Preferred Qualifications: What Will Give You a Competitive Edge While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge: A detailed understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic subject areas. The ability to read, comprehend, and apply information found in technical documents, manuals, and schematics. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as a team and coordinate repairs with other GMTs and outside vendors. The ability to respond to customer needs with minimal direction and perform repairs in time-sensitive situations.
