Job Summary We're seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join our Acute Neuro Unit team in Muskegon, MI. As an RN on our team, you'll play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions. Our Acute Neuro Unit is a dynamic and collaborative environment where you'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities: Provide evidence-based nursing care consistent with the interprofessional plan of care and in accordance with health system policies, procedures, and ANA/regulatory standards. Communicate and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure continuity and coordination of care. Act as a patient/family advocate, promoting patient-centered care and respecting patient autonomy. Perform point-of-care testing as required, and demonstrate a high standard of moral, ethical, and culturally sensitive behavior. Formulate decisions and actions based on ethical principles, using the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide practice. Assess patient and family educational needs, and employ appropriate teaching strategies to promote health literacy. Initiate patient discharge planning, and facilitate a smooth transition to the next point of service or home. Ensure accurate and timely documentation, and assume an autonomous leadership role in delegating tasks to unlicensed assistive personnel. Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Science in Nursing preferred. State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License required upon hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire. Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program required. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Science in Nursing. Experience in acute neuro or med-surg nursing. Neuro-specific training or certification (e.g., CNRN). Physical Demands and Work Environment As a Corewell Health team member, you'll work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires physical stamina and mental focus. The physical demands of this role include: Lifting, carrying, and transferring patients, with frequent walking, standing, and sitting. Exposure to infectious diseases, chemicals, and other workplace hazards. Working in a collaborative environment with frequent communication and teamwork.
