Job Summary As a RN Clinical Care Leader Nights/Weekends in our ICU, you will be responsible for leading employees, facilitating communication, and providing feedback to the healthcare team. You will utilize the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to patients, collaborate with inter-professional colleagues, and demonstrate competency in the registered nurse (RN) skills of the unit/department. Your leadership skills will be essential in high-risk situations, and you will be responsible for making patient assignments based on employee competencies, scope of practice, experience, and patient needs. Key Responsibilities: Lead employees and facilitate communication among the healthcare team to ensure clarity and impact Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to patients Collaborate with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate care Demonstrate competency in RN skills and assume a leadership role in high-risk situations Coordinate clinical/unit nursing activities while adhering to Sanford Health philosophy, goals, and standards of care Acknowledge impact on budget and finance through staffing and ensuring safe patient care Serve as a mentor to staff while facilitating overall unit activities Participate in house-wide and/or departmental committees and assist with the coordination of the Peer Review Process for employees Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in nursing strongly preferred Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) A minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience required, two years preferred Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state Obtains and subsequently maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 60 days of employment into position Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated involvement in clinical process improvement initiatives Certification in a relevant specialty or service area Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.
