About the Role We are seeking an experienced full stack software engineer to join our Information Frameworks team at Blithequark. As a part-time remote employee, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the development of our cutting-edge data entry and information frameworks. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain large-scale distributed systems and applications for data entry and information frameworks. Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and TPMs across teams to drive cross-functional initiatives. Build and work on scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available distributed systems. Contribute to the development of our open-source projects and share our experiences with the open-source community. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a fast-paced environment. Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality code standards. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies. Focus Areas in Information Frameworks Database Access Platform The Database Access Platform team builds and operates a flexible query gateway that enables data abstractions to work at sub-millisecond latencies. This team is responsible for empowering Blithequark microservices to fulfill their growing and evolving data needs. Information Platform Infrastructure The Information Platform Infrastructure team provides a platform for our own information platforms. Our shared infrastructure and tooling enable Blithequark to rapidly improve on providing cutting-edge data and analytics systems to the rest of the organization. Data Development and Processing The Data Development and Processing team offers a self-service cleared way product to enable varied client personas across Blithequark to meet their low-latency data development and processing needs. Big Data Compute The Big Data Compute team is responsible for providing the cloud-native platform for distributed data processing at Blithequark. This team is critical to batch data processing in Information Stage and offers support for Flash, ETL data into Petabytes-scale data warehouse, and access to that data using Flash and Voila/TrinoDB. Big Data Platform The Big Data Platform team offers the platform for planning, organizing, and executing large data jobs and workflows in a self-serve way. These platforms include essential services that have all ETL and ML jobs running on Big Data Frameworks at Blithequark. Requirements Essential Qualifications 2+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems or applications. Proficiency in designing and developing RESTful web services. Experience in building and working on scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available distributed systems. Knowledge of Java or other object-oriented programming languages. Comfortable with multi-threading and troubleshooting complex technical issues. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Preferred Qualifications Experience with open-source projects and contributing to the open-source community. Knowledge of Python, Flash, Presto/Trino, Druid, and Iceberg.
