Job Summary As a Medical Assistant or LPN at Monument Health, you'll play a vital role in providing compassionate, patient-focused care in our ambulatory clinic setting. You'll work collaboratively with our healthcare team to deliver high-quality care, actively participate in patient care activities, and perform assigned tasks in accordance with our policies and procedures. Job Description **Key Responsibilities:** * Prepare examination and treatment areas per clinic standards * Complete patient rooming procedures, including vital signs, data collection, and other identified components specific to the clinic setting * Accurately administer and document unit dose medications/immunizations in accordance with clinic policy * Perform EKGs and laboratory testing per CLIA license of the clinic * Ensure accurate and clear documentation in the patient record * Complete assigned clerical activities and supply maintenance/ordering as directed * Assist with scheduling follow-up care/appointments as ordered/directed * Distribute pre-printed/pre-approved patient education materials * Function within the documented Monument Health Scope of Responsibilities **Additional Requirements:** * High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies; Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant University or accredited training facility * Medical Assistant-Certified (MA) by one of the listed certifying bodies; Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Professional Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) within 60 days of hire * Any Medical Assistant hired between July 1, 2021, and June 30, 2024, may be granted 6 months to obtain national certification * Any Medical Assistant hired after July 1, 2024, must hold one of the following national certifications upon hire: + American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) + American Medical Technologists (AMT) + National Healthcareer Association (NHA) + National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) + American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) **Preferred Qualifications:** * Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing * Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing * 1+ years of Clinical Experience; 1+ years of Healthcare Experience **Physical Requirements:** * Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects * Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues Why Join Our Team?
