As a Managing Editor in our Creative Labs, you'll play a critical role in shaping the creative direction of our promotional content, working closely with our creative strategy and development partners, merchandising, engineering, writers, and editors to craft engaging and accurate copy that resonates with our global audience. The Role We're seeking an experienced Managing Editor to join our Creative Labs team. As a seasoned professional with a passion for messaging, tech, media, and editorial operations, you'll bring a unique blend of skills and expertise to our team. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the development of clear, engaging, and accurate copy for our merchandising content, including shows, movies, and games. You'll work closely with our creative strategy and development partners to ensure that our content meets the highest standards of quality and accuracy. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement creative strategies for merchandising content, including shows, movies, and games Collaborate with creative strategy and development partners, merchandising, engineering, writers, and editors to craft engaging and accurate copy Oversee the development of clear, concise, and compelling copy for promotional content, including social media, email, and website Work closely with our creative technology team to ensure that our content meets the highest standards of quality and accuracy Manage and lead a team of writers and editors to ensure that our content is delivered on time and to the highest standards Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to ensure that our content meets the highest standards of quality and accuracy Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the entertainment industry, including current trends in media, film, and television Develop and implement strategies to improve the member experience through research, experimentation, and testing What We're Looking For We're looking for a seasoned Managing Editor with a passion for messaging, tech, media, and editorial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in writing, editing, and proofreading, with multiple examples of published work and/or projects. They will also have a deep understanding of the entertainment industry, including current trends in media, film, and television. Essential Qualifications Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills Deep content and cultural knowledge about media, including current trends in entertainment Expertise in messaging and leading writing teams to identify the right kind of story to tell and the right format to tell it in for our members Experience managing writing teams, with a strong background in enforcing standards among a team of high-performing global writers Experience with building and managing outsourced/external fulfillment models Understanding of different types of content and the need for tailored copy to meet their respective tones Experience working across multiple business areas to integrate creative strategies that uplevel promotional creative Program management experience, with a strong background in driving projects with multiple workstreams and creating thorough documentation Expertise in product development, creative development, and innovation, with a passion for improving the member experience through research, experimentation, and testing Preferred Qualifications Experience working with creative technology teams to develop and implement innovative solutions Knowledge of emerging technologies and their potential applications in the entertainment industry Experience with tools such as Figma, Coda, Monday.com, Airtable, Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and frame.io Strong leadership and emotional intelligence, with the ability to bring multiple departments together to accomplish complex objectives Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners What We Offer We offer a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and a unique culture and environment that celebrates diversity and inclusion. Compensation The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $370,000, with the opportunity to choose how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options.
