About the Role We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for determining and reporting merchant discount income, driving normalization and process improvement, and performing ad-hoc data analysis to assess rebate rate trends and uncover insights. This is a remote work opportunity, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home and enjoy a better work-life balance. Key Responsibilities Create a Canada figure for merchant discount income and track monthly performance against forecast, identifying drivers of change. Develop merchant discount income scorecards for the Canada region. Drive normalization and process improvement among the different regional pricing groups for all reporting and forecasting related activities. Support external audits, including investigating issues found, contacting the regional pricing groups that manage the merchant relationship to discuss issues, and managing resolutions. Perform ad-hoc data analysis to assess rebate rate trends and uncover insights. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: 2+ years of experience in financial services or payments industry, and/or other financial roles. A Bachelor's degree required; strongly preferred in finance/Accounting/Business. High proficiency with Excel is required. Solid attention to detail and organization. Solid analytical skills; demonstrated ability to develop complex financial models and draw value-added insights from a large amount of financial data. Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., SAS/SQL) is required. Excellent communication skills - both written and oral. A strong relationship with the team and collaboration skills with the ability to influence others in situations where there may be multiple objectives. A strong work ethic with an extreme will-to-win, ability to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment, which puts a premium on driving results. An innovative thinker who will challenge conventional approaches to getting things done and develop new ways to approach old challenges. Solid project management skills with full ownership from analysis through to execution. A passionate focus on the customer; demonstrated desire to understand and address customer needs and pain points. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize accordingly. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working in a remote team environment. Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques. Experience with financial planning and analysis software. Certification in financial analysis or a related field.
