**Experienced Entry-Level Data Analyst – Retail Merchandising and Analytics**

Our team is passionate about using data-driven insights to inform our business decisions and drive growth. **Job Summary** We're seeking an experienced Entry-Level Data Analyst to join our Merchandise Planning Analytics team on a 6-month contract with the opportunity for extension or conversion. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for managing reporting, analysis, and tool building for our Merchandising team. You'll work closely with a team of 100+ merchants and 40+ planners to optimize performance across our Front End businesses. **Work Environment** As a remote analyst, you'll have the flexibility to work from anywhere in the CST time zone. Our team is fully remote, and we're committed to creating a collaborative and inclusive work environment that fosters creativity and innovation. You'll work a standard 8am-5pm schedule with a one-hour lunch break from 12pm-1pm. While we're flexible with our hours, we require a minimum of 30 hours per week to fulfill our business needs. **Responsibilities** As an Entry-Level Data Analyst, you'll be responsible for: * Managing reporting, recapping, tracking, and analysis for our Own Brand (private label) products, including ad-hoc analysis based on business needs * Conducting item-level historical analysis and recapping * Developing item-level future-looking forecasts * Working with thousands of Own Brand items at an item level * Utilizing Microsoft Excel to build complex formulas and synthesize large data sets into meaningful executive recaps * Collaborating with our Merchandising, Planning, Finance, and other stakeholders to develop effective working relationships and drive business growth **Top Must-Have Skills** To succeed in this role, you'll need: * A Bachelor's Degree and at least 3-5 years of experience in analytics, data science, finance, financial analysis, assortment planning, retail, procurement/purchasing, or merchandising * A minimum of 3 years of experience in data analytics or a related field with a strong understanding of retail merchandising basics (i.e. category management) and merchandising organization structures and processes * Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with storytelling finesse * The ability to conduct complex quantitative analysis and build analytical models using Microsoft Excel * Effective communication and presentation skills, both verbally and in writing, via Microsoft PowerPoint * The ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines * The ability to work independently and adapt to changing work priorities * A retail math background, including skills such as item-level forecasting based on demand patterns or sell-through/sales/profit goals, knowledge of sales by type and AUR impacts, and all inventory and sales metrics * Intermediate/Advanced level skills in Microsoft Excel, including SUM/SUMIFS, Subtotals, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Macros, and Pivot tables **Top Nice-to-Have Skills** While not required, the following skills are highly desirable: * An MBA or a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or other quantitative analytical fields * Data science experience * Retail experience * SQL coding, Microsoft Access, and macro building skills **Education / Experience Requirements** To be considered for this role, you'll need: * 3-5 years of experience in analytics or data science, with a merchandising background **What We Offer** As a member of our team, you'll enjoy: * A dynamic and inclusive work environment that fosters creativity and innovation * Opportunities for career growth and professional development * A competitive salary and benefits package * Flexible work arrangements, including remote work options * A collaborative and supportive team environment **How to Apply** If you're a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for data analysis and retail merchandising, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
