Job Overview As an Engineering Lead at Apple, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and support to various internal and external production teams. You will work on a wide range of projects, including live, recorded, and broadcast events, and will be responsible for designing and implementing engineering systems, managing video capture and display technology, and ensuring the smooth operation of our systems. Key Responsibilities Provide technical leadership and support to production teams, ensuring the successful delivery of projects and events Design and implement engineering systems, including video capture and display technology, and high-level signal flow Manage and maintain equipment, including inventory and troubleshooting Collaborate with internal and external teams, including dramatic leadership, technical experts, and content partners Stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements in the video, display, and broadcast fields, attending industry conferences and workshops Ensure compliance with Apple's high production standards and codes of ethical conduct Work well under pressure, maintaining calm and integrity in fast-paced and dynamic environments Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong and diverse skillset, including: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, computer science, or a related discipline Experience working with a range of hardware and software systems, including Multidyne, AJA, Envision Switch, Barco E2, EVS, Christie and Dolby Projection, Clearcom Free Speak II, and RTS radio systems Knowledge of content creation and post-production workflows, including common recording and playback formats and standards Experience with fiber send and receive in 4K, 2SI, and 1080p workflows Working knowledge of HDR production, including S-Log3, HLG, and PQ workflows Ability to design and implement advanced system plans, including line drawings and documentation Experience integrating Apple technologies into SDI production environments Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve operational issues, and ensure high-quality results Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, we are looking for candidates with: Experience working in film-style production, or other related fields, such as sound design, lighting, camera operation, editing, or other technical roles Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to summarize and share complex information in a clear and concise manner Strong vendor management and project management skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality results in fast-paced and dynamic environments A professional attitude, with the ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and integrity Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to have a range of skills and competencies, including: Strong technical skills, with the ability to design and implement complex systems and solutions Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve operational issues, and ensure high-quality results Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external teams, and communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner Ability to work well under pressure, maintaining calm and integrity in fast-paced and dynamic environments Strong attention to detail, with the ability to ensure high-quality results, and maintain high levels of accuracy and precision Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Apple, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
