About the Role We are seeking an experienced Distributed Systems Engineer to join our Data Platform team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and operating our distributed systems infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and operate large-scale distributed systems, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and technical program management, to drive business outcomes Architect and build powerful, versatile, and highly available distributed infrastructure Drive technical initiatives and contribute to the development of our open-source software Participate in the design and development of Tranquil web services, ensuring seamless integration with our existing systems Work closely with our engineering teams to build and operate fault-tolerant, distributed systems Contribute to the development of our data platform, enabling our teams to make data-driven decisions Essential Qualifications 2+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems or applications Proficiency in the design and development of Tranquil web services Experience in building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems Strong programming skills in Java or other object-oriented programming languages BS in Computer Science or a related field Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud-native technologies and distributed data processing Knowledge of open-source software and contribution to open-source communities Familiarity with Python and other programming languages Experience with event-driven and serverless architectures Strong understanding of computer systems, networking, and software engineering principles Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a unique combination of technical, business, and interpersonal skills.
