Moreover, arenaflex is open to remote candidates, valuing what you can do from anywhere in the U.S. Focus Areas in Data Infrastructure Groups The data infrastructure groups at arenaflex are divided into several focus areas, including: Database Access Platform : This team builds and operates a flexible query gateway that facilitates data reflections to work at sub-millisecond latencies, enabling arenaflex microservices to more easily store, consume, and manage their data. Data Platform Infrastructure : Acting as a platform for arenaflex's own data platforms, this team's common framework and tooling enable the company to rapidly innovate in providing cutting-edge data and analytics systems without building customized platforms for each new system. Big Data Compute : Responsible for providing the cloud-native platform for distributed data processing at arenaflex, this team is crucial for batch data processing in the Data Platform. It supports Flash, ETL data into the Petabytes-scale data warehouse, and access that data using Flash and Voila/TrinoDB, among other functionalities. Big Data Orchestration : This team offers the platform for designing, scheduling, and executing big data jobs and workflows in a self-serve manner, including critical services that have all ETL and ML responsibilities running on Big Data Systems at arenaflex. Key Responsibilities As a Distributed Systems Engineer at arenaflex, your key responsibilities will include: Designing and building robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure. Driving cross-functional initiatives and collaborating with engineers, product managers, and TPM across teams. Applying programming and analytical problem-solving skills to address real business needs at scale. Contributing to open-source communities and sharing experiences with Netflix OSS. Working on large-scale distributed systems features or applications, with a focus on building and operating flexible, fault-tolerant, distributed systems. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have: 2+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems features or applications. Proficiency in the design and development of RESTful web services. Experience in building and operating flexible, fault-tolerant, distributed systems. Proficiency in Java or other object-oriented programming languages. A BS in Computer Science or a related field.
