Job Overview As a data entry keyer at blithequark, you will be an integral part of a functional team that prioritizes accuracy and efficiency. Working independently with minimal supervision, you will be responsible for reading work orders, shipping orders, and other customer service documents, and entering data from them into our computer systems. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will ensure that the information is verified before entry and consistently formatted. To maintain a engaging work environment, we have incorporated filing and copying tasks into your daily routine, varying your activities and keeping your skills sharp. Key Responsibilities Read and interpret customer and shipping orders submitted through various channels, including in-person, print catalog, and online, and decipher handwriting that can be challenging to read Accurately key data into specific Microsoft Excel fields, with a significant portion of online orders already partially completed Read and key in data from other source documents, ensuring precision and consistency Verify the accuracy of data before entering it into the system, and ensure that it is consistent throughout Report any data errors or anomalies to your supervisor, contributing to the smooth operation of our company Maintain accurate and updated logs of ongoing work, and perform filing, copying, and other administrative duties for approximately three hours per day Spend around five hours daily on data entry keying, with the remaining time allocated to other tasks Essential Qualifications To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Excellent reading comprehension and critical thinking skills Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail Good communication skills and patience for repetitive work Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following skills and qualifications are preferred: Reading knowledge of English, with around 5 to 10 percent of our orders also in Spanish One to two years of experience with data entry and/or filing Social perceptiveness and service orientation, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service Career Growth and Learning Opportunities At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
