As a Data Entry and GIS Technician at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in supporting the data integrity of the AMSCM database, ensuring that environmental data is accurate, up-to-date, and readily available for analysis and decision-making. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Data Entry and GIS Technician to join our team at arenaflex. The successful candidate will have a strong background in databases and GIS platforms, as well as excellent data entry and analysis skills. The position is contingent on contract award, and viable candidates will be screened. Key Responsibilities Work with the Task Manager to input, update, delete, and review AMSCM data, ensuring data integrity and accuracy Collaborate with the Task Manager and other specialists to translate digital and paper files into data for entry into AMSCM Provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) of inputted environmental data to ensure data integrity and accuracy Document and improve the overall quality of AMSCM data, working with the Task Manager to identify areas for improvement Generate digital map products using AMSCM-related data, supporting data analysis and decision-making Assist with data sharing and data management activities, ensuring that data is readily available for analysis and decision-making Coordinate with the Task Manager for data management, including reviewing and inputting data, re-evaluating and updating features, and checking and verifying feature and site records for accuracy Provide weekly teleconference call updates and monthly written progress reports to the Task Manager and Contracting Officer's Representative, documenting project progress and any issues or recommendations Submit a letter report to the BLM annually, describing the work performed, problems and uncertainties encountered, and providing conclusions and recommendations for related future work Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you will need to have: A strong background in databases and GIS platforms, with experience working with environmental data Excellent data entry and analysis skills, with attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment Experience working with digital and paper files, translating data into a format suitable for entry into a database Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to travel up to six times per year, typically for five working days or less, to Colorado or other BLM offices within the continental United States Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working with the AMSCM database or similar environmental data management systems Knowledge of GIS platforms and digital mapping tools, with experience generating digital map products Experience working in a team environment, with ability to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve project goals Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to have: Strong technical skills, with experience working with databases and GIS platforms Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong time management and organizational skills Attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we are committed to supporting the career growth and development of our employees.
