Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Analytics Engineer to join the App Store Data team, where you will play a crucial role in helping the App Store make data-driven decisions and improve the store every day for both users and developers. As a Data Analytics Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing data, spotting trends and patterns, and providing actionable recommendations to drive business growth. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and design, to develop and implement data-driven solutions that enhance the App Store experience. Key Responsibilities • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions • Develop and maintain complex data pipelines and architectures to support data analysis and reporting • Design and implement data visualizations and reports to communicate insights to stakeholders • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions that drive business growth • Apply research and analytical skills to monitor and analyze suspicious user/device patterns, anomalies, and consolidate anti-fraud rules to mitigate usage-based billing fraud • Contribute to large-scale quantitative analysis projects through all phases, including data quality, data modeling, algorithm/feature development, statistical analysis, and data visualization Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have: • A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering • At least 5+ years of experience as a Data Analytics Engineer with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Advanced programming skills in data manipulation and processing, including SQL, Python, and Scala • Experience working in the big data ecosystem, including Hadoop, Spark, Iceberg, Trino, and Airflow • Proven expertise in data wrangling and developing data visualizations and reporting with tools such as Tableau and Superset • Strong understanding of data analytics, structured and unstructured data analysis, predictive modeling techniques, and emerging methodologies like artificial intelligence • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, along with strong collaborative abilities Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, we prefer candidates with: • Experience collecting cross-functional requirements and translating them into practical data analysis solutions that drive key product decisions • Experience writing and maintaining high-quality code using standard methodologies such as code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration • Experience working in Data Privacy, Compliance, and Trust/Safety domains Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to possess: • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and identify insights • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams • Strong programming skills, with the ability to write efficient and effective code • Experience working with big data ecosystems and tools, including Hadoop, Spark, and Airflow • Knowledge of data visualization tools, including Tableau and Superset • Understanding of data analytics, predictive modeling techniques, and emerging methodologies like artificial intelligence Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Apple, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
