**Experienced Data Analyst – Retail Merchandising and Analytics**

We're now seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our Merchandise Planning Analytics team on a 6-month contract with the opportunity for extension or conversion. **About arenaflex's Merchandise Planning Analytics Team** The Merchandise Planning Analytics team at arenaflex is a dynamic and collaborative group of professionals who are passionate about leveraging data to drive business decisions. Our team supports a diverse group of merchants and planners, providing critical insights and analysis to optimize the performance of arenaflex's Front End (non-Pharmacy) businesses. With a focus on delivering exceptional results, our team is dedicated to staying ahead of the curve in the rapidly evolving retail landscape. **Work Environment** As a remote Data Analyst at arenaflex, you'll have the flexibility to work from anywhere in the Central Standard Time (CST) zone. Our team operates on a standard 8am-5pm schedule, with a one-hour lunch break from 12pm-1pm. While we offer flexibility in our work hours, we require a minimum of 30 hours per week to fulfill the business needs of our team. **Responsibilities** As a Data Analyst on our team, you'll be responsible for: * Owning and managing the reporting, recapping, tracking, and analysis of arenaflex's private label (Own Brand) products, including ad-hoc analysis based on business needs * Conducting item-level historical analysis and recapping, as well as forecasting future sales and revenue * Working with thousands of Own Brand items at the item level, using Excel to synthesize large data sets into meaningful executive recaps * Developing complex Excel formulas and models to drive business insights and recommendations * Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Merchandising, Planning, Finance, and other stakeholders to drive business decisions **Top Must-Have Skills** To succeed in this role, you'll need: * A Bachelor's degree and at least 3-5 years of experience in analytics, data science, finance, financial analysis, assortment planning, retail, procurement/purchasing, or merchandising * A minimum of 3 years of experience in data analytics or a related field, with a strong understanding of retail merchandising basics, including category management and merchandising organization structures and processes * Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with the ability to communicate complex insights in a clear and concise manner * Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to build complex formulas and models, as well as intermediate/advanced level skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint * The ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines, while working independently and adapting to changing work priorities * A retail math background, including experience with item-level forecasting, sales by type, and AUR impacts, as well as inventory and sales metrics **Top Nice-to-Have Skills** While not required, the following skills are highly desirable: * An MBA or a degree in a quantitative analytical field, such as Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) * Experience with data science tools and techniques * Retail experience, including experience in merchandising, planning, or finance * SQL coding skills, Microsoft Access, or macro building experience **Education / Experience Requirements** To be considered for this role, you'll need: * 3-5 years of experience in analytics or data science, with a merchandising background * A strong understanding of retail merchandising basics, including category management and merchandising organization structures and processes **What We Offer** As a Data Analyst at arenaflex, you'll have the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who are passionate about driving business growth through data-driven insights.
