About the Role We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team in a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from home and enjoy a great work-life balance. As a key member of our Review Team, you will provide top-notch customer service support, interacting with beneficiaries and providers via our helpline, creating and proofreading letters, and maintaining timely responses. Your exceptional decision-making skills will be essential in handling complex appeals and ensuring that our customers receive the best possible support. Key Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service to beneficiaries and providers via phone, email, and mail, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner. Create, format, and proofread letters and other correspondence, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timeliness. Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. Assist in identifying areas for potential improvement, participating in case reviews and process evaluations to drive continuous quality improvement. Answer the Beneficiary Helpline, utilizing our hunt group and available light functions to determine the best course of action for each caller. Validate notices and medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Provide intake for all appeals received, ensuring timely and efficient processing. Utilize internal quality control tools to assess individual work and team processes, driving continuous improvement and excellence. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need: A high school diploma or equivalent, with post-high school business courses being helpful. Medical terminology knowledge is desirable, but not essential. Excellent verbal communication skills, with a courteous and patient demeanor, and the ability to maintain composure under potentially stressful situations. Good grammar, punctuation, spelling, hyphenation, and written communication skills. Customer-focused, results-oriented, and capable of building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers. General knowledge of a PC-based computer system, with the ability to learn additional software packages as needed. Ability to multi-task, prioritize assignments, and work independently with good organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Two to three years of clerical experience, including word processing, various filing systems, and telephone customer service responsibilities. Prior work in a healthcare setting or medical terminology is recommended, with previous data entry or other clerical experience being a plus.
