Job Summary In this critical role, you will be responsible for answering inbound customer service calls related to patient accounting questions, providing timely and effective resolutions to ensure customer satisfaction. When inbound call volumes are low, you will make outbound follow-up calls on outstanding accounts receivable, demonstrating your ability to work independently and manage your time efficiently. As a key member of our customer service team, you will be the face of blithequark, providing exceptional service and support to our customers, and contributing to our mission of redefining healthcare services. Key Responsibilities Answer inbound customer service calls and make outbound follow-up calls in a professional, service-oriented manner, ensuring timely and effective resolutions to customer inquiries and concerns. Ascertain the reason for the call and assist the caller with their questions, concerns, or problems, focusing on first-call resolution and facilitating referrals to issue experts as needed. Escalate matters to supervisors or request appropriate information to ensure effective resolution, demonstrating your ability to work collaboratively and think critically. Maintain control of the call, de-escalating issues and instilling confidence in customers that their concerns are being addressed, and providing clear and concise communication. Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating your flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need to possess exceptional customer service skills, including effective problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as a professional and calming tone of voice. You should be able to facilitate conversations with others, establish an understanding of customer issues, and maintain a high degree of independence, flexibility, and creative problem-solving techniques. Additionally, you should be able to interpret and apply reimbursement aspects of managed healthcare contracts, demonstrate attentive listening skills, and clearly articulate responses to customers using appropriate voice modulation. Education and Experience High school education or equivalent required. 1-2 years of prior experience in an inbound call center and/or customer service environment, with hospital patient account billing experience or knowledge of third-party reimbursements from insurance companies and government payers preferred. Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess a range of skills and competencies, including: Exceptional customer service skills, including effective problem-solving and analytical skills. Professional and calming tone of voice, with complete command of the English language. Ability to facilitate conversations with others and establish an understanding of customer issues. Ability to perform essential job functions with a high degree of independence, flexibility, and creative problem-solving techniques. Ability to maintain control of the call, de-escalating issues and instilling confidence in customers. Ability to function effectively under stress, with conflicting demands on time and attention, and sometimes under duress from difficult personalities. Attentive listening skills and ability to clearly articulate responses to customers using appropriate voice modulation.
