Job Summary The successful candidate will be responsible for accepting and processing deliveries, verifying packages, preparing shipments, and maintaining accurate records. As a key member of our logistics team, you will work closely with our supervisors and other team members to ensure that all shipments are processed efficiently and accurately. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be essential in providing exceptional customer service and resolving any issues that may arise. Key Responsibilities Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt, ensuring that all packages are accounted for and processed in a timely manner Pack or unpack a wide variety of items into or from cartons, boxes, or similar containers, taking care to ensure that all items are handled with care and attention to detail Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged, and verify packages according to order and invoices, including quantity, quality, and price Contact supervisor if a mistake is identified, and work together to resolve any issues or discrepancies Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place, ensuring that all packages are properly labeled and stored Ensure invoices are signed and paid for satisfactory deliveries, and maintain accurate records of all shipments and transactions Pick-up parcels from local stores, and prepare packages for shipping, including processing all company shipments with required paperwork and shipping labels Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school diploma and a working knowledge of computer programs for entering data. You will also need to have a solid understanding of health and safety regulations, basic math and recording abilities, and excellent organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are essential, as well as a keen eye for detail and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team. You must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently, and have a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, preferred qualifications include professional interpersonal and communication skills, proficiency in using office automation systems, and proficiency in writing and preparing memorandums and project papers. Knowledge of Postal Service requirements and codes, as well as Microsoft Word and Outlook, would be an asset.
