With a strong focus on customer satisfaction, employee development, and community engagement, we strive to create a work environment that is inclusive, supportive, and fun. **Key Responsibilities** As a Customer Service Associate at blithequark, you will be responsible for: * Engaging customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services * Resolving customer issues and answering questions to ensure a positive customer experience * Modeling and sharing customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience * Providing customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service * Recommending items for sale to customers and recommending trade-up and/or companion items * Registering customer purchases on assigned cash register, collecting cash and distributing change as requested * Processing voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed * Keeping counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, taking inventory, and maintaining records * Implementing Company asset protection procedures to identify and minimize profit loss * Ensuring compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products) * Constructing and maintaining displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise * Assisting with separation of food items (e.g., raw foods from pre-cooked) and product placement as specified by policies/procedures * Providing customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster print and creative machine, suggestive sell of promotional photo products * Assisting with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance * Complying with all company policies and procedures; maintaining respectful relationships with coworkers * Completing special assignments and other tasks as assigned **Essential Qualifications** * High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or specialized training in customer service or a related field preferred * 1-2 years of experience in customer-facing roles, preferably in retail or healthcare * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people * Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines * Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a cash register * Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience working in a retail or healthcare environment, with a focus on customer service and patient care * Knowledge of store systems and store equipment, including cash registers and inventory management software * Experience with digital passport photo service, poster print and creative machine, and suggestive sell of promotional photo products * Certification in customer service or a related field, such as Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR) or Certified Retail Sales Associate (CRSA) * Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues in multiple languages **Skills and Competencies** * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people * Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines * Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a cash register * Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and inventory * Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on collaboration and mutual respect * Strong customer service skills, with the ability to provide exceptional service and resolve customer issues in a timely and professional manner **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
