Job Overview In this position, you will be responsible for providing top-notch service to customers at the ticket counter and gate areas. Your primary goal will be to ensure that customers have a smooth and enjoyable travel experience, from check-in to boarding. As a Ticket Specialist, you will welcome customers, assist them with the check-in and baggage registration process, and utilize a computer to sell, print, and reissue tickets. As a Gate Specialist, you will assist customers with seat availability, gate announcements, flight status, checking and handling baggage, and initiating the boarding process. Key Responsibilities: Utilize a computer to sell, print, and reissue tickets Manage the check-in process, ensuring that customers have the necessary documentation for travel Label baggage and perform lifting tasks that involve moving items from scales to conveyor belts Practice safety-conscious behaviors in every operational cycle and procedure Assist customers with seat availability, gate announcements, and flight status Work with customers to resolve issues and provide solutions in a timely and professional manner Maintain a high level of product knowledge, including fare rules, ticketing procedures, and travel requirements Collaborate with other team members to ensure a seamless customer experience Essential Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent Ability to consistently prioritize safety and security, both for yourself and others Embracing a diverse set of individuals, thoughts, and styles Minimum age of 18 years old Ability to frequently lift bags or items weighing up to 80 pounds Authorization to live and work in the country you are applying to Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong verbal and written communication skills, using proper grammar, tone, and expression Ability to work a fixed or rotating schedule, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays Fluency in English, both written and spoken Fluency in Spanish, both written and spoken (preferred) Preferred Qualifications: While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as customer service or hospitality Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in the airline or travel industry Knowledge of airline operations, including ticketing, baggage handling, and gate procedures Experience working with diverse populations and cultures Ability to speak additional languages, beyond English and Spanish Skills and Competencies: To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Knowledge of airline operations, including ticketing, baggage handling, and gate procedures Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Delta Airlines, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
