Job Overview and Responsibilities As an AI Software Engineer at Delta Airlines, you will be responsible for developing and implementing AI and ML solutions that address real-world problems and improve the customer experience. Your key responsibilities will include: Collaborating with a team of experts and cross-functionally with our partners to identify and define business problems that are suitable for AI solutions Actively participating in the development of strategies and architectures for AI solutions, including the selection of technologies and infrastructure Building proof-of-concepts and models that demonstrate the impact of AI in various business units Creating a set of reusable models and solutions for rapid prototyping Fostering a culture of AI-first thinking and helping to democratize AI across the organization Working closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and develop AI solutions that meet those needs Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in AI and ML, and applying that knowledge to improve our solutions What It's Like Working in the Development Group Our Development group is a diverse team of experts, designers, and strategists who are passionate about improving travel. We work closely with business units to drive specific initiatives, but we also run our own projects, including democratizing innovation across Delta and exploring the impacts of disruptive trends in our industry. We have an office located near Delta HQ in Midtown Atlanta, which allows us to be at the heart of the Atlanta tech scene, and we regularly visit HQ to collaborate with our colleagues. Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and 3-4 years of experience in AI and ML Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language, such as Java, C/C++, Python, or R Strong experience with Python for programming development and knowledge of complex techniques and subtleties of programming development in Python Experience with at least one of the following: Natural Language Processing, sentiment analysis, classification, pattern recognition Development experience with AI frameworks, such as TensorFlow, Microsoft CNTK, scikit, Keras, Caffe, Gluon, Light, SageMaker, Azure AI Experience with basic web UI and API development Experience and familiarity with presenting to technical audiences A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and authorization to work in the US Preferred qualifications include: Experience working in the travel or aviation industry Knowledge of cloud-based technologies and containerization Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns Skills and Competencies Required for Success To succeed in this role, you will need to possess a range of skills and competencies, including: Strong technical skills, including programming languages, data structures, and software design patterns Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders and team members Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and frameworks Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Delta Airlines, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
