Our community is free to join and can be accessed through various devices, including VR, desktop computers, and mobile devices. With over 200 events each week, our members have ample opportunities to engage in group meetings led by certified guides on a wide range of topics, from serious issues like anxiety and depression to more informal and social-focused events, as well as mindfulness and meditation sessions. About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our Community Team as a Community Moderator and Customer Support Specialist. In this vital role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety and positive engagement of our community members within our online application. Additionally, you will provide exceptional customer support through Zendesk to enhance the overall user experience. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for fostering a supportive environment, addressing concerns, and providing assistance to our community members. Key Responsibilities Community Moderation: Monitor user interactions within the application to ensure a safe and supportive environment, enforce community guidelines and policies, engage with community members, address concerns, and provide assistance when needed. You will also welcome and greet new users, fostering a sense of belonging and helping them navigate our online community. Customer Support: Respond to user inquiries and support requests via Zendesk in a timely and professional manner, troubleshoot and resolve user issues effectively, demonstrating empathy and understanding. You will also collaborate with our technical team to escalate and resolve complex issues, ensuring that our community members receive the support they need. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of user interactions and support requests, provide insights and feedback to improve community engagement and user satisfaction. Your input will be invaluable in helping us refine our community guidelines, policies, and support processes. Essential Qualifications Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner. Empathetic and patient, with the ability to handle sensitive situations and provide support to community members who may be experiencing distress or difficulty. Familiarity with mental health topics and a commitment to promoting a supportive environment, with a willingness to learn and grow with our community. Previous experience in community moderation and/or customer support is preferred, with a strong understanding of the importance of creating a safe and inclusive online environment. Ability to adapt to new technologies and platforms, with a willingness to learn and become proficient in our online application and support tools. Must have previous experience using Zendesk or similar customer support software, with the ability to navigate and utilize the platform effectively. Academic or professional background in psychology or mental health, with a Bachelor's degree in psychology preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a fast-paced online environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to resolve complex issues and improve community engagement. Experience with community building and engagement strategies, with a willingness to contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives to promote community growth and participation.
