As a strategic partner to the Managing Partners, you will play a pivotal role in driving the firm's strategic initiatives, managing day-to-day operations, and overseeing various aspects of the business, including billing, staffing, IT, organizational effectiveness, marketing, and business development. Key Responsibilities As our ideal Chief of Staff, you will be responsible for: Financial Management and Billing Manage and optimize the firm's accounts receivable processes in collaboration with the paralegal team, ensuring timely payments and minimizing delinquencies. Execute follow-up on past due client invoices and keep the Managing Partners informed of delinquent accounts. Oversee the calculation and payout of the team lead bonus program for attorneys. Collaborate with Managing Partners and the firm accountant on budgeting and forecasting to drive business growth. Staffing & Human Resources Oversee the firm's staffing and resource allocation charts to meet client demands and business objectives. Drive talent acquisition, development, and retention efforts with the firm's HR consultant. Foster a positive and inclusive remote work culture through ongoing programming that supports high performance and employee engagement. Technology & IT Management Partner with the IT consultant to ensure the firm's technology infrastructure is reliable, secure, and scalable. Collaborate with the IT consultant to execute technology onboarding and offboarding processes for employees. Lead initiatives to implement technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and client service. Organizational Effectiveness Lead change management initiatives and process improvements that enhance collaboration and communication in a remote-first work environment. Collaborate with the Managing Partners to ensure the firm is well-positioned to respond to industry trends and market conditions. Manage special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Managing Partners. Marketing & Business Development Develop and execute the firm's marketing strategy with the Managing Partners to enhance brand visibility and attract new clients. Support business development efforts, including client relationship management and strategic partnerships. Liaise with the firm's website development to maintain and update the firm website. Drive the creation of marketing content and materials, including regular LinkedIn posts for the firm. Identify conferences and other relevant business development activities and coordinate staff travel. Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you should possess: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field ; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred. A minimum of 7 years of progressive operations experience , preferably within a legal or professional services firm. Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives and drive organizational change . Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills . A strategic mindset with demonstrated ability to drive business growth and operational excellence . Adaptability and capacity to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, remote work environment . Tech-savviness with a strong interest in leveraging digital tools to enhance collaboration, effectiveness, and efficiency in a remote work environment. Be based in the NYC tri-state area with the ability to commute to NYC regularly to conduct firm business.
