About Our Organization Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 serves nearly 15,500 students in preschool through grade 12 and is located halfway between Chicago, Illinois, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on the shores of Lake Michigan. Our District has one early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools, and a high school program divided between two 9-12th grade campuses. Job Overview We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Bilingual After School Tutors to provide small group direct instruction to K-8 students. As a tutor, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and academically rigorous instruction that excites students and instills a love of learning in them. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed. Key Responsibilities Provide differentiation in small group direct instruction to K-8 students Deliver instruction and support to students following a prescribed curriculum and curricular materials Implement instructional routines and learning strategies as outlined in curriculum and as presented in professional development sessions Ensure that students are actively engaged and provide individual help throughout each session with a focus on student growth Administer pre-tests and post-tests to monitor student progress Progress monitor and record student growth Submit daily attendance and communicate with parents as necessary and as required Communicate with classroom teachers on progress monitoring results Provide student supervision as required during student arrival and dismissal times Supervise students during transition time after school and ensure that snacks are provided to students each session Attend mandatory professional development specifically for the after-school program Qualifications and Experience To be successful in this role, you will need to have: An Illinois Professional Educators License with Bilingual Education endorsement Appropriate certification and licensure required, especially for High School positions Teaching experience for the grade level preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities What We Offer In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer: A competitive salary based on current hourly wages for teachers Opportunities for professional growth and development A supportive and collaborative work environment The chance to make a positive impact on the lives of students A dynamic and diverse community of educators and students Career Growth Opportunities We are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
