About the Role We are seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Dunellen, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule. We offer the highest pay rates among substitute providers, with up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. Our goal is to provide you with the tools and support you need to excel in the classroom and make a positive impact on the lives of your students. Key Responsibilities Teach a variety of subjects, including math, science, English, and social studies, to students of different ages and skill levels Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of your students Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced educational setting Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching skills and knowledge Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you will need: An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, with at least one from a previous direct supervisor A NJ Substitute Credential A background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working with students of different ages and skill levels Knowledge of special education principles and practices Experience with classroom management and behavior modification techniques Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong teaching and classroom management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to new and challenging situations Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth Career Growth Opportunities At Scoot Education, we are committed to helping our educators grow and develop in their careers.
