Key Responsibilities Plan and execute a comprehensive curriculum that meets the individual needs, abilities, and interests of all students assigned to your classes Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for students Implement the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives through instruction and action Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials Establish and maintain cooperative relations with colleagues, parents, and the community Perform such tasks and assume responsibilities as directed by the principal Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills: Appropriate New Jersey Teacher certification, or Certificate of Eligibility A strong and diverse skillset in English Language Arts, including expertise in curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, parents, and the community A passion for teaching and learning, with a commitment to academic excellence and student success The ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth Preferred Qualifications A master's degree in English Language Arts or a related field Experience teaching English Language Arts in a diverse and urban school setting Knowledge of curriculum design and instructional strategies that promote academic excellence and student success Experience with technology integration and digital learning platforms Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students and families from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Instructional expertise : The ability to design and deliver comprehensive and engaging lessons that meet the individual needs, abilities, and interests of all students Classroom management : The ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth Communication and interpersonal skills : The ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, parents, and the community to promote academic excellence and student success Cultural competence : The ability to understand and appreciate the diverse linguistic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds of our students and families Technology integration : The ability to effectively integrate technology into instruction to promote academic excellence and student success Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Trenton Public Schools, we are committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our teachers.
