Job Overview: Specialist, Academic Support We are seeking an innovative, flexible, and forward-thinking team member to join our team as a Specialist, Academic Support. This role is located within OASIS, Walden's departmental hub for academic support services, and is designed to support the evolving needs of our diverse learners. As a key member of our team, you will participate in collaborative projects and initiatives across teams, provide high-quality instructional services, and contribute to the thoughtful, student-centered design of curriculum, instruction, and support. Key Responsibilities: Participate in collaborative projects and initiatives across teams to enhance student support and success Provide high-quality instructional services, such as tutoring, webinars, writing support, and other academic support services to undergraduate students Contribute to the design and development of curriculum, instruction, and support services that meet the needs of diverse learners Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless support services and foster a culture of student success Essential Qualifications: Master's degree required 5 years of experience working within a diverse educational environment 3 years of experience providing instruction, tutoring, or other student support services 2 years of experience teaching and/or learning in online learning management systems (such as Blackboard, Canvas, etc.) Preferred Qualifications: Excellent organizational, communication, and team participation skills Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work with diverse and/or underserved student populations Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds Experience and/or training in curriculum design or development Prior experience planning and leading live instructional events Technical savviness using virtual communication tools and online platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc. Experience using online learning platforms such as Blackboard, Canvas, etc. Adaptable to new responsibilities and initiatives Experience in providing detail-oriented support, such as editing or publication-related skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Walden University, we are committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits The expected salary range for this position is between $47,766.34 and $86,253.75 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
