Our digital production team is responsible for creating and publishing dozens of video and audio podcasts, live shows, and other content for ESPN's bolthires and digital platforms. We handle everything from pre/post-production, remote recording sessions, video editing, control room producing, headline/description writing, and optimizing content for success on each platform. Our team is comprised of talented professionals who are passionate about sports, storytelling, and innovative content creation. Job Summary and Responsibilities As an ESPN Digital Production Intern, you will work closely with our show producers, distribution partners, and other digital production stakeholders to support podcasts on our distribution platforms. Your primary responsibilities will include: Assisting rundown prep by researching topical subjects and active fan conversations to ensure that our content is relevant and engaging. Compiling and editing materials necessary for production on all relevant platforms, including video and audio content. Understanding ESPN content priorities and integrating with other ESPN platforms, including the ESPN App and bolthires. Applying production principles designed to drive consumption of podcast downloads and video views. Working with producers to ensure fit and fulfillment of ad inventory within shows. Capitalizing on data to drive content creation and optimize content performance. Requirements and Skills To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills: A strong base of sports knowledge and appreciation of news and story play. A solid understanding of the podcast and bolthires mediascape, including best practices for optimizing content for discovery and consumption. Non-linear editing skills, specifically in Premiere Pro and Audition. Proficiency in Photoshop and Descript. Strong writing skills, particularly in creating headlines and descriptions, and an understanding of optimal tactics for content distribution. The ability to create and tell stories in a fast-paced, competitive environment. The ability to juggle multiple varied tasks during a work day and seek out assignments as bandwidth allows. Eligibility Requirements and Program Information To be eligible for this internship program, you must meet the following requirements: Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program. OR have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at the time of application posting. OR currently be participating in a bolthires College Program or bolthires Professional Internship. Be at least 18 years of age. Possess unrestricted work authorization. Have not completed one year of continual employment on a bolthires internship or program. Program Dates and Work Environment The program dates for this internship are June 3rd through August 9, 2024. As a remote intern, you will work 40 hours per week throughout the internship and must be fully available. You will be required to have a dedicated home office with reliable internet and phone service. Compensation and Benefits The pay rate for this remote internship is $21.70 per hour. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
