They are seeking an Electrical Engineer - GIS to analyze customer technical specifications and design product solutions for medium voltage switchgear, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery. Responsibilities Work independently or as part of a project team to create all engineering documents for customer approval and manufacturing of Medium Voltage switchgear Utilize the engineering switchgear configurator software to prepare, one-line drawings, control schematics, and bill of material with a high degree of accuracy Be a technical project leader taking full ownership of the overall deliverables Provide factory support during the manufacture of your projects to ensure that the final deliverable is true to your design Provide technical support to our service teams and/or to customers as required Skills Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering 1-4+ years of proven experience working with the design/configuration of electrical power distribution products and systems with emphasis on medium voltage switchgear Strong working knowledge of standard protection and control technologies used in medium voltage distribution products with proven ability to share this knowledge with others Electrical drafting experience with Engineering Base, ELCAD, and/or AutoCAD Electrical, or similar Ability to analyze customer's technical specifications regarding the application of protection and control systems and apply appropriate product solutions to meet the customers' expectations in a cost-effective timely manner Ability to read, understand one-line, and evaluate electrical schematics to identify errors or potential improvements Ability to multitask and manage large workloads and business demands An ideal candidate is detail-orientated, process-driven, and able to embrace a culture of quality Must be in or willing to relocate to the Raleigh/Wendell, NC area Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization A master's degree in electrical engineering is a plus with extra consideration given if the degree concentration is in power systems Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL, and NEMA standards for MV Switchgear Experience with electrical design for medium voltage switchgear, preference given to experience with Siemens switchgear Experience with Gas Insulated Switchgear Experience creating and working with smart CAD blocks Benefits Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to our employees.
