About the Role: Early Childhood Educator - Infant Toddler Preschool Teacher We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Early Childhood Educator to lead our Infant Toddler Preschool program. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a nurturing and educational environment that promotes the cognitive, social, and emotional development of infants and toddlers. Key Responsibilities: Plan, develop, and implement daily lesson plans that provide educational and enrichment activities for infants and toddlers, aligning with federal performance standards. Create a well-organized classroom environment that promotes effective learning, with distinctive learning areas that cater to the needs of infants and toddlers. Screen and assess children to determine their developmental and educational needs, and develop and implement individualized education plans. Ensure a safe environment for children during meal and snack periods, classroom and restroom activities, and playground activities. Document children's progress, complete required manual and computerized forms and reports, and maintain comprehensive portfolios for each child. Communicate effectively with parents through conferences, written correspondence, telephone, and home visits, providing updates on their child's progress and involving them in their child's education. Conduct health checks on children, report health concerns to the appropriate nurse, and perform First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) as needed. Plan and coordinate field trips, request supplies and equipment, and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the classroom and grounds. Collaborate with other Early Head Start staff to discuss plans and concerns regarding children and families, and maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with established policies and procedures. Requirements and Qualifications: Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required. A National Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or Florida Child Care Professional Certificate (FCCPC) for Pre-school or Infant/Toddler Endorsement is highly preferred. At least one year of experience in teaching Head Start, Early Head Start, preschool, or kindergarten-aged children. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift at least 45 lbs. and provide physical assistance in the transportation of special needs children. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Working knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for infant/toddler education. Understanding of behavior modification theories and practices relating to infant/toddler development. Familiarity with current educational techniques and practices relating to infant/toddler development. Ability to resolve conflicts between toddler-aged children and plan, organize, and implement infant/toddler education curriculums. Ability to assume a seated position on the floor for extended periods and prepare and maintain work-related reports and files.
