About the Role: Early Years Teacher We are looking for a talented and dedicated Early Years Teacher to lead our educational programs for pre-school aged children or infants/toddlers in the Head Start/Early Head Start Program. As a Teacher I, you will be responsible for planning and implementing daily lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our young learners. Your goal will be to create a nurturing and engaging environment that fosters social, emotional, and cognitive development. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement daily lesson plans that provide educational and enrichment activities for pre-school age children or infants and toddlers. Create a classroom environment that promotes effective learning, with distinctive learning areas and engaging activities. Screen and assess children to determine developmental/educational needs and develop individual education plans. Monitor and ensure a safe environment for children during meal and snack periods, classroom activities, and playground time. Maintain accurate records of children's progress, complete required forms and reports, and initiate referrals as needed. Communicate effectively with parents through conferences, written correspondence, and telephone calls. Conduct health checks and report any health concerns to the Health Coordinator. Ensure lessons and activities align with the Florida Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Standards. Perform quality staff-child interactions, using active supervision techniques and maintaining positive classroom behavior. Requirements and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need: Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Two years of experience teaching Head Start, Early Head Start, pre-school, or kindergarten age children. Bilingual skills in English/Spanish or English and other languages present in the local area are preferred. Essential Skills and Competencies: As an Early Years Teacher with LSF, you will need to possess: Working knowledge of brain development and its impact on early learning. Understanding of child development from birth to age five, including typical and atypical children. Familiarity with culture and practices for early childhood education. Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood. Understanding of behavior modification theories and practices relating to early childhood development. Effective verbal communication skills with infants, toddlers, and pre-school age children. Ability to plan, organize, and supervise the work of others.
