Job Title: E-commerce Operations Manager Location: Remote Availability: · Preferred: Monday through Friday and available 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST · Acceptable: Monday through Friday, available fours during 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST plus fours outside time window Type: Full-Time Independent Contractor Start Date: Immediate About the Role We are looking for a highly structured and detail-oriented E-commerce Administrator to manage the daily operations of our new e-commerce platform built on Medusa. We are launching in early February and require an immediate hire to assist with the critical 30-day pre-launch phase, focusing on system testing and Quality Assurance (QA). Post-launch, you will serve as the operational backbone of the store, managing high-volume orders (10k-20k/month) and serving as the escalation point for our Customer Service team. Key Responsibilities • Phase 1: Pre-Launch (First 30 Days): • Conduct rigorous end-to-end testing of the Medusa platform (browsing, cart functionality, checkout flows, payment gateways). • Identify, document, and categorize system bugs or UX issues. • Collaborate with the development team to prioritize and resolve issues before the go-live date. • Phase 2: Ongoing Operations: • Order Management: Oversee the daily flow of 10,000+ monthly orders, ensuring successful processing from payment to fulfillment. • Financial Reconciliation: Manage payment captures, investigate fraud flags, and process complex refunds or adjustments. • Vendor Coordination: Act as the primary liaison with fulfillment vendors to troubleshoot shipping delays or inventory discrepancies. • Tier 2 Support: Resolve escalated tickets from Customer Service that require backend administrative access or technical investigation. • Emergency Response: Provide on-call support outside of standard hours for critical site outages or payment failures. Requirements • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in E-commerce Operations or Administration. • Preferred: Hands-on experience with MedusaJS. • Acceptable: Deep administrative experience with BigCommerce or Shopify Plus. • Technical Aptitude: Ability to learn new dashboard interfaces quickly and understand the logic of e-commerce workflows (APIs, payment gateways, fulfillment logic). • Communication: Native or near-native English proficiency (written and verbal). Must be able to articulate technical issues clearly to developers. • Soft Skills: Extreme attention to detail, structured thinking, and a proactive "ownership" mentality.
