Crime Analyst
The California Department of Justice is seeking a Crime Analyst I to support the Division of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse. The role involves analyzing and disseminating fraud information while managing evidence related to investigations. Responsibilities Locates, compiles, analyzes and disseminates Medi-Cal fraud and elder abuse information, data, and documentary evidence in support of the investigative and prosecutorial duties of the Special Agents, Deputy Attorneys General and Special Investigators within DMFEA Responsible for property and evidence management including the maintenance of chain of custody, proper receipt, identification, and preservation of evidence submissions, appropriate release/transfer of evidence, tracking, and records management Will also order equipment for sworn and investigative staff Skills Under the supervision of the Crime Analyst Supervisor, the Crime Analyst I (CA I) locates, compiles, analyzes and disseminates Medi-Cal fraud and elder abuse information, data, and documentary evidence in support of the investigative and prosecutorial duties of the Special Agents, Deputy Attorneys General and Special Investigators within DMFEA The CA I is also responsible for property and evidence management including the maintenance of chain of custody, proper receipt, identification, and preservation of evidence submissions, appropriate release/transfer of evidence, tracking, and records management The CA I will also order equipment for sworn and investigative staff Individuals who are new to State service or looking to promote must have list eligibility in order to gain employment with the Department of Justice To access the Crime Analyst I Examination and obtain list eligibility, please click HERE Range B: This range shall apply to persons who have satisfactorily completed the equivalent of 12 months of Crime Analyst I, Range A; who have graduated from a recognized four-year accredited college or university; or who have one year of work experience obtaining, analyzing, and/or disseminating criminal justice information Benefits Work-life balance 11 paid holidays Flexible paid leave options Consistent wage increases Pension retirement Job stability Health/Dental/Vision Insurance Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) and more!
