New Jersey Courts is seeking a Court Services Officer to join their team, dedicated to serving the public with integrity and quality service. The role involves conducting remote settlement conferences, preparing consent forms, and providing information on case statuses to judges and management. Responsibilities Conduct and assist with remote settlement conferences in Landlord Tenant matters using the Microsoft Teams application or other virtual platforms Schedule Mediation sessions and walk litigants through navigating the platform in preparation for the settlement conference Preparing consent forms to be emailed to litigants and prepare settlement forms during virtual mediation to be emailed during mediation sessions Examine case files Review and provide information to judges or management on case statues Prepare technical, statistical, financial, review or evaluation reports for Civil Management Discuss with members of a case management team about program or case management Coordinate activities between or among agencies or other government of enforcement units Check written reports for completeness or accuracy Analyze case histories Inform litigants and attorneys on the procedure through the virtual hearing process Contact attorney and other interested parties to ascertain case information Verify information, verify file completion, and/or make requests for additional information Participate in team/work unit meetings Perform other related duties as required Skills Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree One year of paraprofessional experience in case management involving gathering, reviewing and verifying case-related information Experience conducting investigations, monitoring casework flow, interviewing clients or customers for needed information, preparing investigative fact-finding reports and/or writing case notes or other case-related correspondence Driver's License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position Authorization to Work: Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the 'New Jersey First Act,' all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey Submission of a cover letter preferred but not required Company Overview New Jersey Courts is a government institution that offers legal proceedings, criminal trials, assistance and case resolution.
