Compliance Representative
The California Franchise Tax Board is seeking a Compliance Representative to promote business entity tax filer compliance. The role involves perfecting cases for filing enforcement assessments and responding to correspondence and inquiries regarding state filing requirements for business entity non-filers. Responsibilities Promote business entity tax filer compliance in the Filing Enforcement (FE) Section Perfects cases for filing enforcement assessments Examine and respond accordingly to less complex correspondence through Case Management (CM) and Taxpayer Folder (TPF) Directly respond to incoming telephone calls through the Automated Call Distribution (ACD) System providing information and guidance regarding state filing requirements for business entity non-filers Process work lists by analyzing, reviewing, and perfecting accounts for business entity non filers to ensure that the correct income is associated to the correct account Skills Working knowledge of the Integrated Non-Compliance System (INC) Business Entity Tax System (BETS) Taxpayer Information System (TI) Taxpayer Folder (TPF) Case Management (CM), Centralized Revenue Opportunity System (CROS), and comparable tax accounting software and systems Properly making account adjustments/ transactions in the INC, BETS, TI, TPF and CM, systems, and comparable tax accounting software and systems Ability to interpret and accurately explain complex provisions of the California Revenue and Taxation Code, the Internal - Revenue Code, public service bulletins, and other operating procedures regarding personal income tax law, filing requirements, filing enforcement practices, collection activities, while maintaining taxpayer privacy and data confidentiality requirements Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Experience working in a contact center (telephone, correspondence, and email) Result driven with a positive attitude Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills Ability to effectively deal with the public and establish and maintain positive working relationships Ability to work independently and in a team environment while demonstrating initiative, integrity, ownership, and accountability Assist and responds to incoming telephone calls from a ACD phone line.
