Key Responsibilities As a Virtual Mental Health Counselor, you will play a vital role in our organization, working closely with clients to provide guidance and support throughout their mental health journey. Your primary responsibilities will include: Conducting individual and group therapy sessions via remote platforms, ensuring a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their concerns. Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans that address clients' unique needs and goals. Establishing a strong rapport with clients, built on empathy, trust, and effective communication. Collaborating with clients to identify and work towards achieving their treatment objectives. Reassessing client needs on a regular basis, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant records. Coordinating with other healthcare professionals and community resources to ensure comprehensive care. Fostering a culture of professionalism, adhering to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Essential Qualifications and Skills To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills: A valid license as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LAC) in the state of New Jersey. A strong understanding of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and clinical counseling practices. Proficiency in individual and group therapy techniques, with the ability to adapt to diverse client needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. A compassionate and empathetic demeanor, with a genuine desire to support clients in their mental health journey. The ability to work independently in a remote setting, with a high degree of self-motivation and discipline. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Certification in CPR/First Aid, or a willingness to obtain certification. Experience working in a remote or virtual setting, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities presented by this environment.
