Community Engagement Specialist - Audubon/VHCB Audubon is a growing and diverse community of bird lovers, Chapters, and members working seamlessly across the country, improving the world for birds and people. Audubon Vermont seeks a creative individual to inspire conservation action for birds, people, and the planet through support of local chapters, educational programming, and community science initiatives. Audubon Vermont and our supporters are building a better future for our state through conservation, youth leadership, education, community involvement, and by tapping into an active network that includes over 10,000 members, six Vermont chapters, including our newest UVM Campus Chapter, and many respected partners in communities throughout Vermont and along the Atlantic Flyway. This position is Full Time: Requires 1,720 hours for an average of 40 hours per week for 47 weeks. Member will receive a living allowance of $30,500 (pre-tax) for the service term. Member will receive an education award of $7,395 (pre-tax) upon successful completion of service. Member Duties : ·Promote conservation through education programs, community science initiatives, volunteer engagement, and supporting local Audubon Chapters. ·Teach hands-on nature-based programs ·Represent Audubon and lead educational programming at events throughout the state. ·Create lesson plans for environmental education programs and camps. ·Support the achievement of outreach and environmental education goals. ·Recruit volunteers to support community science initiatives ·Manage the Adopt-a-Trail program and Phenology Monitoring Walk ·Build capacity for hosting service-learning programs for middle and high school students; maintain community science initiatives. ·Engage college students in conservation and community science projects. Strengthen the Audubon Chapter. ·Collaborate with Audubon Chapters •Participate in an Independent Service Project and in all VHCB AmeriCorps Trainings, Service Days, Events, and Program Initiatives.
