Registered Nurse Coder Auditor / Clinical Coding Education & Audit Nurse (RN) Location: Remote (Must be willing to travel to New York twice annually) Pay Range: $68,700 – $123,700 per year Schedule: Primarily Remote Position Purpose The Clinical Coding Education & Audit Nurse (RN) is responsible for developing, conducting, and analyzing clinical coding training and auditing programs. This role focuses on auditing inpatient coding processes for Fidelis Care and supporting the development of training and audit tools to improve coding quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities • Develop and maintain complex audit processes and tools related to inpatient coding. • Conduct audits of established medical necessity guidelines and inpatient coding accuracy. • Design, develop, and deliver clinical education and training for new and existing employees. • Analyze training needs and create effective training programs, materials, and aids. • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and recommend improvements. • Collaborate with staff to identify and resolve coding errors, presenting findings to management. • Maintain accurate records of training activities and employee progress. • Assist in revising policies, procedures, and work processes for inpatient coding. • Occasional travel required (approximately twice per year to New York). Qualifications Education & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, related clinical field, or equivalent experience. • 4+ years of experience in nursing, training, or auditing within a managed care or healthcare setting. • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital environment. • Experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred. Licenses & Certifications • Current state nursing license required. • Valid and current CPC, CIC, or CCS certification required. • Valid driver’s license may be required for certain positions. Skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Proven experience in inpatient coding and clinical auditing. • Excellent attention to detail and analytical abilities. • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
