The Role Comity is looking for an hourly Bookkeeper to support the company’s financial operations and help ensure accurate and compliant accounting practices. This role will be responsible for preparing financial reports and supporting our leadership team in maintaining financial transparency and operational efficiency. You will work closely with Business Operations and external partners to ensure timely and accurate financial management. We estimate this part-time role will require approximately 10 hours per month. Responsibilities • Lead monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness • Prepare reconciliations and financial statements in compliance with GAAP • Facilitate the company’s annual audit by coordinating with external auditors and internal stakeholders • Partner with Business Operations to ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes We’re excited about you because: • You have 5+ years of bookkeeping experience • You have experience working with GAAP compliance, reconciliations, and financial reporting • You have experience working in Quickbooks, Excel, and Google Sheets • You bring strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently Nice to haves: • You hold a CPA license • Experience in accounting for power trading or commodities businesses • Experience in start-up finance and accounting processes • Familiarity with Python and SQL for data analysis and reporting Location This role is fully remote.
