Backend Software Engineer Intern
Join Wing as a Backend Software Engineer Intern to develop backend infrastructure for drone delivery operations in a hybrid Palo Alto program. Your Role Here’s what you will be doing: • Design, develop, test, and deploy backend services and APIs primarily using C++. • Collaborate with mentors and team members on code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning. • Contribute to systems managing fleet inventory, aircraft maintenance logistics, and autonomous flight operations. • Work with technologies such as gRPC, Spanner, and Google's distributed systems infrastructure. • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving backend system issues. • Document design choices and implementation details. About You What you'll need: • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, graduating between December 2026 and August 2027. • Solid foundation in software engineering principles, data structures, and algorithms. • Experience or comfort with C++. • Understanding of API design principles (e.g., gRPC, REST). • Ability to learn new technologies and systems quickly. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with eagerness to work in a team environment. • Willingness to ask questions and seek guidance. Compensation & Benefits • Paid 12-week summer internship. • Salary range: $118,000 - $122,000 USD (US base salary range). • Benefits included.
