Telemetry Nurse (RN) in Overland Park, KS
A nursing role is available in Telemetry with a focus on cardiac care. This position requires specialized skills in telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip management, and post-procedure care, particularly involving TR Bands and medication initiation protocols. Responsibilities: • Provide direct patient care on the telemetry unit, including cardiac monitoring and management. • Administer and manage cardiac drips such as Heparin, Butamax, Lasix, and Cardizem. • Assist with the initiation process of Tikosyn and Sotalol medications. • Support post-procedure care, specifically with TR Bands. • Float to various acute care units as needed. Qualifications/ Desired Experience: • Holds a current Kansas RN license. • Minimum 1 year recent telemetry experience; 2-5 years preferred. • Proficient with cardiac drips and telemetry patient care. • Experience with Tikosyn/Sotalol initiation and TR Bands. • Certifications in BLS and ACLS required. • Familiarity with EPIC EMR system preferred. Schedule: • Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. • 36 hours per week, comprised of 3 twelve-hour shifts. • Every other weekend rotation. • No on-call or holiday shifts unless unit demands. Additional Details: • Comprehensive orientation includes in-person and virtual training. • Floating across acute units provides varied clinical experience. • Contract length of 13 weeks. • Bi-weekly pay cycle. • The healthcare facility promotes a nicotine-free environment.
