The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of AWS services, cloud computing technologies, and software development, enabling them to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure solutions tailored to business needs. Key ResponsibilitiesCloud Architecture DesignDesign and develop highly scalable, available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS using an AWS Native approach. Define architecture patterns and best practices for cloud-based applications. Create detailed architectural diagrams and documentation for proposed solutions. Solution ImplementationBuild, deploy, and manage AWS-based applications using a combination of AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, CloudFormation, and more. Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates using tools like CDK (our preferred approach), Terraform or Serverless Framework. Development & AutomationWrite clean, scalable code for cloud-native applications using programming languages such as TypeScript (our preferred approach), Python, Java, or Go. Automate operational tasks, deployments, and infrastructure provisioning and CI/CD pipelines. Performance OptimisationAnalyse and troubleshoot system performance issues, optimizing for cost and performance. Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using AWS CloudWatch, X-Ray, or other observability tools. Security and ComplianceImplement robust security by design. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations like GDPR, HIPAA, or ISO. Collaboration and LeadershipCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and QA, to deliver end-to-end solutions. Mentor junior team members in AWS best practices and development workflows. Lead architecture review sessions to ensure alignment with business goals. Cost ManagementMonitor and optimise AWS resource utilization to minimize costs. Consider cost in design of any system. Key Skills and AbilitiesHands-on experience designing and developing solutions on AWS, specifically an AWS Native approach to building platforms and software. Proven track record of delivering cloud-native applications. Strong knowledge of core AWS services: S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudFront, ECS etc. Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like AWS CDK, AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK. Expertise in container technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like ECS. Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or CodePipeline. Strong programming skills in languages such as TypeScript, Python or Java. Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and event-driven design. Knowledge of AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), security best practices, and data encryption. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
